Notre excursion vous emmènera sur les étapes les plus passionnantes à travers les Alpes françaises et italiennes et à l’arrivée de la course dans la ville de Brescia. Vous aurez également la possibilité de monter une partie des plus emblématiques ascensions en Europe comme l’Alpe d’ Huez, le Galibier, le Stelvio, la Gavia et le Mortirolo pour ne nommer qu’eux.
Limité à seulement 25 places, ce tour est entièrement pris en charge. Il comprend de fantastiques solutions d’hébergement, de grands diners, des guides expérimentés et un support mécanique digne des équipes professionnelles. Balade en vélo en montage pour s’échauffer avant un dîner de bienvenue 18 mai 2013: Départ à vélo de notre hôtel pour rejoindre le parcours et le suivre jusqu’à l'arrivée au sommet de la montagne Jafferau afin de regarder le final de l’étape en direct Dîner de groupe à Briançon 19 mai 2013: Ascension du Col du Télégraphe et / ou du Galibier avant de regarder l’arrivée de l'étape au sommet du col dans des conditions privilégiées. Descente en vélo jusqu’à l'hôtel situé à Briançon. Dîner de groupe. 20 mai 2013: Grimper sur le Col du Lautaret et / ou de l'emblématique Alpe d'Huez. Rester à proximité du podium à l'Alpe d'Huez avant de savourer un moment de détente dans le village. 21 mai 2013: Prendre un jour de repos sans vos vélos afin que nous jouissions d'un tour panoramique à travers les Alpes et d’un déjeuner sur les rives du lac Como. Dîner dans le village de Bormio, au pied du col du Stelvio. 22 mai 2013: Selon votre choix : promenades guidées comprenant les cols de Garvia et du Cancano ou repos dans les célèbres bains thermaux de Bormio. Dîner libre dans ce beau village. 23 mai 2013: Défier avec nous l’ascension historique du Mortirolo ou aller faire un tour auto-guidé programmé avec l'aide de nos experts locaux. Dîner gastronomique à l'hôtel. 24 mai 2013: Grimper sur le col mythique du Stelvio quelques heures avant les pros et déjeunez au sommet du col Encourager les pros lors de leur ascension vers le sommet du Stelvio, avant de les suivre jusqu'à Prato en vélo. Dîner dans les Dolomites du Tyrol dans notre magnifique hôtel. 25 mai 2013: Faire défiler les Dolomites lors d’une balade à vélo entre Stelvio et Cortina avant d'avoir la possibilité de monter au sommet de la montagne finale quelques heures avant l’arrivée des pros à Tre Cime de Laveredo. Regarder le maillot rose se décider en direct lors de la montée finale du Giro l'Italie 2013. Profiter d'un dîner de groupe dans notre hôtel au coeur des Dolomites. 26 mai 2013: Regarder la fin du Giro 2013 en direct de la ligne d'arrivée dans la ville de Brescia. Profiter de la remise des trophées du vainqueur et des maillots avec les admirateurs italiens. Célébrer un tour mémorable autour de notre dîner d'adieu au cœur de Brescia. 27 mai 2013: Fin de la visite avec un transfert vers l'aéroport ou continuez votre voyage depuis notre hôtel du centre-ville. Our tour commences from Milan's Malpensa Airport (Terminal 1), the main airport for International flights in the North of Italy. We ask guests
to arrive at the airport by 9am. Should you be staying in Milan prior to the start of the tour, there is a shuttle service every 20 minutes to the airport
that takes approximately one hour.
At Malpensa Airport you will be met by one of your tour hosts. At 9.30am, or prior should all guests have arrived, we will then depart directly
for our hotel for the next 4 nights in Briançon, just over the border in the French Alps.
The transfer is approximately 3 hours and on arrival we will have lunch at our hotel and check-in. During the afternoon we will fit you to your Trek Madone 5.2 or set up your bike, before taking in a short cycle through the surrounding country side. Our support vehicle and mechanic will be on hand to make any adjustments that you need.
We will conclude our ride in time to catch the closing stages of the 13th stage of the Giro d'Italia on television before enjoying an energy fuelled dinner at our hotel.

18 May 2013:
After breakfast at the hotel we will cycle directly from Briançon as we climb up the Via Torino and in to Italy towards Sestriere (pictured below). We will shortly join the race route and ride through to the mountain top finish in Jafferau close to Bardenecchia where you will enjoy the festivities and watch the race from one of the many vantage points on the steep 7km climb up to the finish line.
Following the stage finish, the group will have the choice of cycling back to the hotel (approx 30km) or taking our coach transfer from Bardenecchia before enjoying dinner at the hotel.
Total days ride distance: 50km, optional additional 30km

19 May 2013:
Our day commences with breakfast at the hotel before we transfer by coach to Fourneaux, a small riverside village. As the Giro enters in to France and encounters both Mont Cenis and the Galibier the atmosphere will be enourmous. Our ride commences with a slight descent which provides an opportunity to warm up the legs before we turn at Saint Michel de Maurienne for the iconic climbs of Col du Telegraphe and Col du Galibier. With 28km of climbing it is sure to be a truly memorable day of cycling on one of the world's greatest climbs. For those that wish to start their ride from the town of Valloire (between the Col du Telegraphe and Galibier) this will be an option.
Following this mountain top finish which will have a big impact on the overall standings of the race, guests will be invited to continue over the top of the Col and descend to our hotel in Briançon by bike. Should anybody not be up to riding all the way up the Galibier, our coach will be waiting in the village of Valloire to bring the guests back to the hotel. Dinner will be at the hotel.

20 May 2013:
Whilst the pro's take a rest day from riding, our conquering of the key climbs of the Alps continues. After enjoying a relaxed breakfast at the hotel guests will be invited to ride from our hotel over the Col du Lauteret then on to the village of Bourg d'Oisans before we take on the legendary switch backs of l'Alpe d'Huez. For those with extra energy, they will have the chance to take a detour to the Col du Galibier from Col du Lauteret.
Those wishing to start their ride from the Col du Lauteret will also be given this option as both our support vehicle and coach will be with us en route.
On reaching the historic finish line of the Alpe d'Huez climb, we will enjoy an opportunity to relax at this beautiful mountain village before our transfer back to the hotel by coach. Our final French dinner will be served at the hotel.
Total days ride distance: Briançon to l'Alpe d'Huez - 80km, Lauteret to l'Alpe d'Huez - 52km

Today we head away from the Giro as we travel back in to our new hotel in the Italian Alps in the cycling Mecca of Bormio where we will stay for the next 3 nights.
Our journey will take us through Northern Italy and along the banks of the stunning Lake Como where we will enjoy lunch in a beautiful village. Our restaurant has a stunning terrace with uninterrupted views of this majestic part of Italy.
After lunch we will continue our drive to the Alpine village of Bormio. Dinner will be enjoyed at the hotel in the evening.

With the Giro traversing Italy on predominantly flat stages, our focus will be on enjoying the incredible cycling in this part of the world. With
our local guide, guests will enjoy a range of optional rides over the following two days and can pick as many or as few as they like.
Morning ride; our guided ride will be up the iconic Gavia. A feature in the Giro on many occasions, we will ride directly from the hotel to
the base of the climb and on to the pass before returning by the same route. Total distance: 52km
Afternoon ride; located not far from the hotel is one of the most picturesque and incredible climbs in Europe. The Cancano is a series of
switchbacks that climb their way over 8kms before reaching a beautiful alpine lake. Total distance: 26km
Dinner on this evening will be at leisure to give you the chance to enjoy some of the local restaurants and pizzerias.

23 May 2013:
After our hearty breakfast we will then be offering one of the toughest climbs in Giro history. The Mortirolo is famous for its unrelenting
steepness over 12km. It also features a tribute to a legend of the region, Marco Pantani, which provides a nice excuse to rest!
Our ride will give guests two options for summiting the climb, a 14km ascent with steady steep climbing or the historic route which averages
10.5% over 12km. Total ride distance 72 or 80km.
Given the challenge of the Mortirolo there won't be a second guided ride however those that want to do a second ride or give the Mortirolo a
miss will find the Bormio 2000 climb starts at our hotel and is a nice steady climb. Total ride distance: 20km

With the Giro back on our doorstep and passing through Bormio, we will climb the Stelvio. Our morning will start with breakfast at the hotel
before we cycle up this stunning road with its series of switch backs, alpine meadows and incredible views.
At the summit, our group will enjoy lunch before cheering the pro's as they pass by on their way to the stage finish in Val Martello. Once the
race has passed, we will follow the race by bike down to the village of Prato Allo Stelvio to our awaiting coach for transfer to our new hotel in the
Dolomites.
Total ride distance: 48km
Overnight: Santa Cristina, Italy
25 May 2013:
Having enjoyed breakfast at the hotel, our ride starts directly from the front door as we cycle the stunning rolling hills through the Val Gardena region, with the imposing 'Sella Massif' in view. Our ride will intercept the stage route approximately 25km from the finish from where we will continue on the route to watch the stage from the most prestigious mountain resort in Italy, Cortina, or the mountain finish point of Tre Cime di Laveredo.
Following the conclusion of the final mountain stage of the 2013 Giro, we will regroup in Cortina before transferring by coach back to our hotel in Selva. Dinner will be served at our hotel.
Total ride distance: 60km to Cortina or 100km with stage finish and ride back to Cortina

Following a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and with our cycling component of the tour concluded we will enjoy a 3 hour transfer to the 2013 Giro
d'Italia finish city of Brescia. Your luggage will continue on to our hotel for the evening whilst the group will proceed to the finish zone where we will enjoy the closing stages of this amazing race and see the sprinters challenge for final honours live and the arrival and presentation of the winner.
Following the conclusion of presentations will have the chance to return to our nearby hotel before we take in all the festivities being held in Brescia.
Our evening will be celebrated with a gourmet dinner in the heart of the old centre of Brescia. This evening will be a great chance to celebrate a fantastic 10 days of following the 2013 Giro d'Italia.

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. For those departing on a flight from Milan, we will provide a morning transfer to Milan Malpensa Airport.
Please do not book a flight departing prior to 1.45pm.
For those wishing to continue their travels in Italy we invite you to depart directly from the hotel which is convenient to the central train station at your leisure. (Milan - 45mins, Venice - 1h40mins, Rome - 3h50mins)

Our final night will be in central Brescia, the host city for the conclusion of the 2013 Giro d'Italia. Located within walking distance of the finish line, the 4 star Novotel Brescia will provide a great base from which to soak up the excitement of the conclusion of the great race.
